The Latest

The latest update about Charlie Sabado is that the doctor continues to hold out hope that all of his problems - enlarged heart, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc. - are the result of diabetes. It seems his blood-sugar levels were extremely elevated. However, Charlie has been taking a lot of medicines in the past three weeks or so, and his blood-sugar level has gone down in addition to his high cholesterol. So there is yet hope that this problem can be easily solved. Of course, Charlie will have to monitor his diabetes now for the rest of his life but it's true that a lot of people have lived a long time with diabetes. We are still not certain of all this, however, and there is still the possibility that he will need to go to Manila or Cebu for an angiogram or further testing regarding his heart. Please keep Charlie and family in your prayers.
Other news: our construction continues to go very well. The roof trusses are all complete now and up and welded in place. We are now just waiting for the roof to arrive to put it up. Finishing work is ongoing on the west end of the building. This end is 99 percent finished, and we may be able to occupy some rooms there within just a few days or weeks from now.
There is now a new congregation meeting at the campus of Leyte Christian College and it is a huge blessing that we have sometimes as many visitors as regulars at the services. Last Lord's Day we had 26 children and a smaller number of adults visit our services from the local village of Tagpuro. We're praying that we will have some baptisms in the coming days & weeks.
